Hey loyal readers! I'm am extremely sorry to report that my site will be on hiatus until April 26th, 2010. I've got two giant term papers to write for my graduate classes and have to focus all of my time on them. Fear not, I will return in full force. Make sure to revisit the last week of April.

US Troops Kill Group Of Innocent Iraqi Journalists

WikiLeaks, a Sweden-based group dedicated to publishing leaked military and government documents has posted this video of US troops in Apache helicopters gunning down innocent Iraqi journalists. In the video, you can hear the full audio of the troops in the helicopters as they mistake cameras and a telephoto lens for AK-47s and a grenade launcher. These dumbasses sound all too excited to get their guns off.
Really guys? I've watched the video a few times and nothing of what those men were carrying look remotely like AK-47s or a grenade launcher. Here's a picture of what two bad guys look like with an AK-47 and a grenade launcher.
(Yes, I know that is not an AK-47 in that guy's hands. It's just an example.)
Generally, an AK-47 is held with two hands and a strap that goes over your shoulder and/or neck. It's a huge fuckin' gun. There is no way you mistook a camera for that thing. Call me crazy, but isn't a grenade launcher just a little bit bigger than say even the biggest of lenses, a super telephoto lense? Even if the lens this guy was carrying was that big, it still doesn't look anything like a grenade launcher. Get some fucking glasses assholes and stop killing innocent people. Great job at continuing to make the US look bad to the rest of the world.

Ron Huberman Is A Hypocrite

Recently, thanks to a faithful reader, Ron Huberman's hypocritical ways of running the Chicago Public Schools(CPS) has been brought to my attention. This has awarded him my "HYPOCRITE" stamp, which I initially thought would only be used on Fatty's fat face. A lot of you may be wondering, "Who the hell is Ron Huberman?" I asked myself the same question. After reviewing his Wikipedia page, I find myself really questioning, "What are Ron Huberman's qualifications for running CPS?" Sure, he's an educated man, but I don't see anything in his past that qualifies him for controlling your child's public education. Maybe if he had a graduate degree in say, oh, I don't know, Education Administration? Then I wouldn't be so quick to stamp his hubristic face. I use the word hubristic, not only because I find it ironic that Ron's last name is Huberman, but because "hubris" often indicates being out of touch with reality and overestimating one's own competence or capabilities, especially for people in positions of power. Is it possible that Huberman is Mayor Daley's rising star who has been thrown into a position he can't handle? Look at his history, since 2004 he has leapfrogged four different times from top job, to top job. How does being the president of the CTA for two years qualify him to be the head of CPS?
Wait a second... didn't Obama give $100 billion to states in 2009 to bail out their education needs? What happened to those funds? It appears the stimulus did sort of help. Except, recently released is a great study of early findings of K-12 job trends amidst stimulus funds from the Center on Reinventing Public Education at University of Washington. It seems to me that the states' public school administrators used the money from the stimulus to bail them out in 2009 and wasted the extra time they were given to lay better financial plans for 2010. Did they think the recession was going to evaporate?
My big questions: Is it possible school administrators are just as bad as the big wigs on Wall Street? Instead of using the stimulus effectively, they continued their greedy ways and now your child's education and teachers are going to suffer as a result?
